About this website
This web site is a web directory, i.e. an organized collection of links to web pages where artists (or affiliated people) give away their music for free. The music can be legally downloaded for personal use, sometimes even for commercial (look for the license information).
The web site is based on a database maintained by volunteers. The database is also available for free in YAML and JSON formats, which are machine readable. Please contribute back.
This web site is completely static, it's generated from the aforementioned database by python scripts, which are also freely available.
